Privacy policy

What we collect at the booth and in the dashboard, what we do with it, and how long we keep it.

In short

  • We collect what it takes to run a photo booth: the photos taken in it, and the email address or phone number a guest types in to receive them.
  • We use it to deliver photos. We don't sell it, we don't advertise with it, and we don't use guest photos to train AI models.
  • Guest photos and contact details are deleted 3 months after the event ends, or on a schedule the event's operator sets. Never later than 12 months.
  • Questions or requests go to hello@wonderbooth.app.

Who this covers

Wonderbooth is photo booth software made by Bird In The City LLC ("we"). This policy covers our websites (wonderbooth.app and wonderbooth.photos), the Wonderbooth booth app, and the photo links we send.

Two kinds of people use Wonderbooth:

  • Operators are the photographers and booth companies who sign up, set up events and run the booth.
  • Guests are the people who step into the booth at an event.

For guest information, the operator who ran the booth decides what is collected at their event, and we process it on their behalf. If you were a guest, you can contact the operator or us, and we'll help either way.

What we collect

From guests

  • Photos and videos taken in the booth, and the styled versions made from them.
  • Contact details you enter to receive your photos: an email address, a mobile number, or both. They are optional; you can also scan a QR code or use AirDrop, which need neither.
  • Your choices in the booth, such as the look you picked, and your answers if the operator added a question or a consent screen.
  • Delivery records: whether a message was sent and when, so we don't send it twice.

From operators

  • Account details: name, email address and business name.
  • Event details: event names and dates, styles, and anything you upload, such as an invitation or logo.
  • Billing details, once paid plans begin. Card numbers are handled by our payment processor, never stored by us.

Automatically

Our servers keep standard logs (IP address, browser type, the time of a request) for security and to fix problems. Our websites use no advertising cookies or third-party trackers. The operator dashboard stores what it needs to keep you signed in.

How we use it

  • To run the booth: take photos, apply the look a guest picked, and build strips and galleries.
  • To deliver photos to the guest who asked for them, by the channel they chose.
  • To show operators their event's photos and give them a gallery to share with their client.
  • To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
  • To contact operators about their account and the service.

We don't sell personal information, we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we don't use it for marketing to guests.

AI looks

When a guest picks an AI look, their photo is sent to our AI provider to create the styled version, and the result is returned to Wonderbooth. The provider processes the photo only to produce that image.

We don't use guest photos to train AI models, and we don't build face recognition templates or identify people in photos.

Text messages and email

If you enter a mobile number or email address at the booth, we use it to send you the link to your photos from that session. That's all we use it for.

We do not sell, rent or share mobile numbers, text message opt-in data or consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Your number is shared only with the messaging provider that delivers the message for us.

Reply STOP to any text to stop messages from us. The full terms for text messages are on Text messages.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers that run Wonderbooth for us, under contracts that limit their use of it to providing their service, and with the operator of the event where your photos were taken.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply to it.

How long we keep it

Each event has a retention period, counted from when the event ends. It is 3 months unless the operator chooses a shorter or longer one, and it is never longer than 12 months. When it passes, we delete the event's guest photos, videos, contact details and delivery records, and the guests' photo links stop working.

Practice sessions an operator runs before doors open are deleted after 24 hours.

Operator account details are kept while the account is open, and deleted after it is closed, except what we must keep for tax and accounting.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the information we hold about you. Email hello@wonderbooth.app. If you were a guest, tell us the event and the email address or number you entered so we can find your session.

Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under laws such as the GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to object to processing and to complain to a regulator. We will not treat you differently for using them.

Security

Information is encrypted in transit and at rest. Photo links contain a long random token, so they can't be guessed. Operators see only their own organization's events.

Children

Wonderbooth is a tool for businesses and isn't directed at children under 13. Children may appear in photos at family events, where the operator is responsible for having the necessary permission. We don't knowingly collect contact details from children under 13; if you believe we have, contact us and we will delete them.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell operators by email before it takes effect.
